Do you need a holiday to save your mental health?

We’ve all had that feeling of being stuck in a rut and simply going through the motions each day. It can get you down when there’s no light at the end of the tunnel.

Human nature means we’re always looking ahead to the next thing and if there’s nothing on the horizon, it might well be having a negative impact on your mental health.

So, could a holiday be what you need to recharge and feel full of positive energy again?

Here are six reasons why we think it could be just the trick.

  • Time off work – for most of us, the biggest cause of stress in our lives comes from our job and a holiday means precious days away from the office not thinking about your boss, annoying colleagues (you know who you are!) and those looming deadlines.
  • No more chores – the other bane of our lives, having to keep on top of cooking, cleaning and boring life admin. Say hello to daily cleaners and room service at the press of a button!
  • Experiencing new culture – it can be eye-opening exploring a new place and give you a really fantastic perspective on just how amazing your own life is or provide you with tips to make a change for the better.
  • Food and drink – forget those boring mid-week meals from Coles or Woolies, sample new flavours and loosen the waistband as you’re waited on hand and foot.
  • Sleep – with all you need to worry about the next day’s itinerary or which beach to chill out on, you’ll probably get more zzzzs than you do when you’re getting up early for work or hitting the gym.
  • Quality time – whoever you’re having a break with, it’s an opportunity to strengthen relationships, have deep and meaningfuls and even some cheeky lie-ins without being disturbed!

Whether it’s a quick trip up the coast, a city break or an exotic getaway, stop procrastinating and get something booked – we promise you’ll feel better straight away!
